MCPA-Isooctyl Ester
The ester form of MCPA. Esterification makes the molecule lipophilic, so it cuts through the waxy weed cuticle faster and resists wash-off; inside the plant it is hydrolysed back to active MCPA acid. It is the modern, lower-volatility replacement for 2,4-D butyl ester in cereal and maize programmes.
MCPA
A selective, systemic hormone herbicide for broadleaf weed control in cereals, maize, rice, flax and grassland. Selective because graminaceous crops metabolise it quickly while dicot weeds cannot – the weeds grow themselves to death while the crop is untouched.
Glyphosate Isopropylamine Salt
The benchmark glyphosate formulation traded worldwide. The isopropylamine counter-ion gives the molecule high water solubility and stronger penetration through the leaf cuticle than the sodium salt, which is why 41% SL and 62% SL are the default specifications in most import tenders.
