Chlorothalonil Smoke Generator

A broad-spectrum, multi-site protective smoke generator for greenhouse disease control. It deposits a uniform protective film over every surface of the house – leaves, stems, flowers, fruit and even the structure itself – suppressing grey mould, downy mildew, late blight, early blight, leaf spot and anthracnose before they establish.

Mode of action

Chlorothalonil is a multi-site contact fungicide. It reacts with the sulfhydryl (-SH) groups of amino acids and enzymes in the fungal cell, inactivating glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase and other key enzymes in glycolysis and respiration. Energy production collapses and the cell dies. Because it attacks many sites simultaneously, a single gene mutation cannot confer resistance – which is why chlorothalonil remains effective after decades of intensive use and is the standard mixing partner for resistance management.
