Procymidone Smoke Generator

A specialist smoke generator against grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) and Sclerotinia – the two diseases that cost greenhouse growers the most. It combines protective and early-curative action with the reach of a smoke aerosol, so it treats the flowers, fruit calyxes and stem wounds where these pathogens actually start.

Mode of action

Procymidone inhibits spore germination and blocks mycelial growth. It disrupts the osmotic signal transduction pathway (the HOG MAP-kinase cascade) that fungi use to manage osmotic stress, and interferes with lipid metabolism, leading to membrane damage and hyphal death. In practice the result is that germinating spores fail, existing mycelium stops growing, and lesion expansion is halted – including infections that started in the previous 24 to 48 hours.
